*I did a bunch of editing on a major work project and didn't keep close count of words, so this is almost certainly too low.

December goals:
1. Write at least 21 days to hit GYWO goals. On the dot. If you think I wasn't watching my writing days very carefully you are wrong.
2. Finish and post
critmas_exchange story (due 12/16). I needed a bit of an extension due to some work deadlines, but I did post it on time for that.
3. Finish catching up on StoryGraph. I sort of actually just now finished doing this. So yes, but actually no.
4. Write LB post? We'll see. Well I did work on it. And I think it will work okay as a 2021-wrap up type post in the next week or two.
So, how did I do with my 2021 goals overall?
1. Try to hit the 240
getyourwordsout Journeyman Habit goal. Yep. Just exactly.
2. Sign up for
wipbigbang and use the challenge as an opportunity to finish the sequel to "Face the Music". My greatest success of the year. Does it count as "finishing" when I came to a stopping point in the sequel and realized that I need to write another one? Sure.
3. Once that's done, turn my attention to Wardens of Ivalice Part 3. Nope, never really even opened it. I think I've decided to focus on "Face the Music" Part 3 instead, just because that's where my momentum is.
4. Write at least one post for
ladybusiness every month (already have some plans for this in the works) and post Monday Media Musings at least three times a month. Miserable failure on the first one. I did post at least one Media Musings every month, and I have ideas on how to get back into that habit. The LB habit is harder to figure out. Still, doing so is a high priority for me.
I am dealing with a whole raft of personal life stuff right now that makes it hard for me to imagine what the shape of 2022 will look like. So in some ways it seems like folly to set up any kind of long-term goals. And yet I've been doing this for so long that I can't imagine *not* doing it. And I did sign up for GYWO again (still on the Journeyman goal). I suppose the way to go is to set up some low bar goals and maybe a stretch goal or two, and see how that works.
Goals for 2022:
1. Surpass the target of 240 writing days per year for
getyourwordsout.
2. Write at least one post for
ladybusiness every quarter and post Monday Media Musings at least three times a month. A repeat of last time, with one goal steady and the other scaled back.
3. Return to my Dragon Age replay and finish up the DA codex meme that I started in late 2020.
4. Work on (and finish?) Face the Music Part 3.
And for January, in the spirit of clearing off my plate of the old so I can get to the new:
1. Write 6 days per week to get ahead of GYWO pace.
2. Finish long-in-progress LB post as well as writing up media favorites for 2021.
3. Finish DAI Cassandra/m!Lavellan fic that stalled out last summer.
Limiting myself to three goals a month seems like a good idea for now. We'll see how it goes.
