Russia and LJ, again
I've seen some folks voice concerns that, because LJ is owned by a Russian company, and if you live in a country that has imposed economic sanctions on Russia, renewing a paid account at this time could be seen as a violation of that policy. I don't know if anyone reading this is still active on LJ, but I thought it was worthwhile information to share.
I stopped crossposting to LJ in 2017 and ported all my content from my two personal accounts here many years before that (I didn't post about it, so the exact date is lost to the mists of time). Every so often I idly consider deleting my accounts -- I haven't gotten a legit comment on an LJ post in forever -- but I hate the idea of contributing to link rot. If only I could set up some service that would forward every LJ link to its counterpart on DW. The only content on LJ that I don't have saved anywhere else is my old shared writing community where I posted the stories I wrote collaboratively with my late friend Ikon. I've thought sometimes about how I might preserve those writings elsewhere, but I haven't made any moves on that. Would it be worth creating a new account on AO3? A question for another day.
