Polar bears. Yes, both of them -- the one on the left is just really, really dirty.

I believe this is a Demoiselle Crane (updated with the correct information; thanks, [livejournal.com profile] plantgirl!).

A gorgeous snow leopard.

This is a species of deer, believe it or not. It's really, really tiny, with legs so slender you can't believe it really supports the fat little body. Very cute. Much cuter in person.

A few more in this gallery. Enjoy!

Heron and bear and leopards and deer, oh my! Although after failing to find a heron that looks quite like that, I've decided your heron is actually a crane, more specifically Grus virgo (http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&q=grus+virgo&btnG=Search), or Demoiselle Crane. Does that look right to you?

In the process I found some nifty info on herons (http://www.earthlife.net/birds/herons.html) and cranes (http://www.earthlife.net/birds/cranes.html). Veddy Useful (except for the annoying ads).

Yes, it does. Thanks for the info! :) And for the interesting links -- good identification tips and pictures.
