b: We'll Be Together, Sting

[identity profile] grue23.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
You mean d.

[identity profile] grue23.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Is Sting the theme?

[identity profile] luvmoose.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Right, have me do all the work.

[identity profile] grue23.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
And I'll take all the credit. Sounds good.

[identity profile] owlmoose.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, obviously. But there's more to it than that. ;)

[identity profile] peachespig.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
These aren't all those ridiculous Sting/Police songs where he echoes one song at the end of another? Does that make c. "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic"? (I think of that song as having a different first line - "Well 've tried before to tell her" etc. - but it sounds like you've got some muttered phrase at the beginning as the first line of c, instead of the first actual line of singing.)

[identity profile] owlmoose.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
You have the idea, but not quite, because of what c. is

[identity profile] peachespig.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
So "Sting/Police sounds that include lyrics from/references to other Sting/Police songs" is not quite correct?

[identity profile] owlmoose.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
*That* is what I was looking for. (before, you mentioned the end specifically, that doesn't fit c.)

[identity profile] peachespig.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Excellent! (I meant "songs" not "sounds" of course.)

I'm pretty sure one of those sounds refers back to Every Little Thing, but I guess your meme is the songs that contain buts of other songs - but the meme is not the other songs themselves. :)

Faculty meeting!

[identity profile] owlmoose.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty sure one of those sounds refers back to Every Little Thing

Two of them do, actually -- "O/Oh My God" and "Seven Days".

but I guess your meme is the songs that contain buts of other songs - but the meme is not the other songs themselves. :)

Correct. Enjoy your meeting....

[identity profile] luvmoose.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
c: Shadows in the Rain. :) Which is the whole darned song.

[identity profile] owlmoose.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Which is why [livejournal.com profile] peachespig's first guess was wrong. :)

[identity profile] luvmoose.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
6: Let Me Go, Cake

[identity profile] madlori.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
a. Oh My God, the Police
b. Love is the SEventh Wave, Sting
d. We'll Be Together, STing
e. Seven Days, Sting.

And GODDAMN but I know c and can't think of it right now.

[identity profile] luvmoose.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm having that problem too. And I swore it was The Police, but I just scanned my boxed set. Grrr.

[identity profile] owlmoose.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[livejournal.com profile] luvmoose beat you to b and d but the others are all yours. :)

As for c., the theme might help.

[identity profile] peachespig.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe it's "O My God". :)

[identity profile] peachespig.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
And I tried to add a "/nitpick" tag but LJ ate it up...

[identity profile] peachespig.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I know, I was just nickpicking the spelling of the title - O instead of Oh. :)

[identity profile] luvmoose.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
My tracklisting reads "O".

[identity profile] peachespig.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, and your tracklisting is right! Lori had said "Oh".

[identity profile] luvmoose.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, I was looking at what Kathleen posted as the answer. :)

[identity profile] owlmoose.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)

You are correct. :)

[identity profile] peachespig.livejournal.com 2006-01-19 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Is 3 "Join Together" by the Who?

[identity profile] owlmoose.livejournal.com 2006-01-19 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
As a matter of fact, it is.
