Google draws the line

(Speaking of lines...)

The US Justice Department demanded user search records of Google, and Google said no. Good for them. Especially since the DOJ seems to want the data to make another run at passing a CDA (Communications Decency Act, aka shutting down the Internet as we know it). It concerns me somewhat that Yahoo and MSN have already turned over the data. It disturbs me even more that the data exists to be turned over in the first place. Did you know that some search engines, including Google, keep logs connecting search queries with IP addresses? I didn't. Hmm.
