random pairing meme

Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] cosmorific. Mostly because the whole "names-drawn-from-a-hat pairing" concept amuses me beyond all reason....

1. Go here.

2. Play around until you get a list of pairings you'd like to see (or at least want to use to torture unwilling captives).
[ed. I cheated a bit on this, reloading the page a bunch of times and picking and choosing from the results -- most of the lists had too many characters from anime fandoms that I know literally nothing about.]

3. Check out my list below. Write a drabble for one of the pairings in the comments. Make it as ridiculous or implausible as you need to.

4. Post your own list in your journal, and I'll look it over and write a drabble for you.

Peter Pan/Jack the Ripper

The couple walked hand in hand down the street, two figures in the London fog. If you looked, you could see their feet didn't touch the ground. You'd have to look carefully, because if you tried to, you couldn't focus on them, they seemed to slide away from your eye.

And if you listened, you might hear them . . .

"And where shall we go tonight, my dear Jack?"

"Oh, I don't know, lovely Peter. You pick, you saved me, after all?"

"Oh, sweet Jack, you pick. After all, thanks to you, I finally grew up . . ."

Very, very nice. And a bit chilling. Just twisted enough to work. Thanks!

Also, thanks for creating the pairing generator in the first place; it has brought me a great deal of amusement, all by itself. :)

Glad to see it can keep causing inspiration and trauma ;)

Superman/Inara (Firefly)

"Do you mind if I ask you something?" Inara said.

"Ask away," said her bed partner, smiling benignly.

"A good-looking fellow like you - you're strong, powerful, you could have any girl you wanted if you played your cards right. So given all that, why-"

"Why pay for a Companion, you mean?" said Superman, laughing. "Well, if you really want to know..."

"Actually," said Inara, with a wry smirk, "I was going to ask 'Why wear a silly costume that virtually guarantees you'll need a Companion in order to-' Eeep!" Inara's snarky comment was cut short by Superman smacking her playfully on the ass.

"Now, now, Miss Inara. Is that any way to speak to a client? You'll have to be punished for that."

"Ooh, ready for Round Two already, are we?" Inara purred. "I guess you really are the Man of Steel."

Hee hee! That is excellent. :) Thanks! (And for the meme, too. There's nothing quite like a good crack pairing ficlet...)

My pleasure. (And I agree. Hee.)
