The next chapter of DSHnD is up. Enjoy, if you are so inclined. ;)

And now, off to work, where I will spend the entire day in a new employee orienatation. Yes, during my fourth week. I gather they save these up until there are enough new employees to bother. So I'll probably have figured out a fair bit of it, although at least I'll finally learn what the benefits are.

Sorry to get your hopes up! This is not a review yet, but it will be. I have grad school and other things keeping me from buying and playing X-2 right now, and I've been trying to avoid spoilers in the meantime.

However, a quick glance of your usericons revealed a few important details:

Fellow Mawrtyr.
Auron fan.
Lulu fan.
Paine fan (which goes along with being a Mawrtyr -- i haven't played X-2 but I have at least some idea who's who.)

I have a feeling I will be enjoying this story immensely, and I'm bookmarking it right now for future reading.

Eeeee!

Have you *any* idea how exciting it is to find another Mawrter in the FFX fandom? :) On second thought, I suppose you know *exactly* how exciting that is.

When did you graduate, if I may ask?

I understand about wanting to avoid X-2 spoilers. Unfortunately, DSHnD is chock full of them, as is almost everything else I've written, so you're right to save it for later. I look forward to seeing you back. ;)

Paine fan (which goes along with being a Mawrtyr

*So* true. I think you will not be disappointed by game Paine.

That's a lovely userpic.

Anyway. Thanks for the note! It is so great to meet you.

Class of '93, embarrassingly going back for a PhD, and writing fanfic is a bad way to get distracted from it. (I just turned 35 today, which is Auron's age!)

Yes, I got very excited to see a Mawtyr FF fan over there! My old girlfriend was so fed up by Tidus in X and the Barbie Dress Accessories in X-2 that she really cannot share my joy with these two games, but at least we both agree on Rinoa. She and several of the old Erdman Backsmoker gang are still gamers and FF fans in particular. One of them wrote a parody of VIII (http://heavenscalyx.livejournal.com/2006/03/24/) which is very funny.

Userpic is one of two by [livejournal.com profile] neveryouonlyme who has -- alas! apparently left!!! *grabs and hugs them tightly* Let me post the other one here.

The joy of being bi: I spent the end of FFX being a silly drooling fan over both Auron AND Lulu. Even if Lulu's breast jiggle is irksome. "Yes, she is well stacked, now let's have another biting remark and a close-up of her glaring!"

I only just played X in February because I spend most of my time-wasting moderating a large LOTR forum, and hadn't gotten around to buying it. So I am currently in the full flush of X obsession, several years after everyone else. I created a second LJ account to keep my smut and FFX obsession segregated from the rest of my online presence.

Now, however, I have spammed your post quite enough.

Class of '93

Are you serious? 1995 here. And, though not part of the Backsmoker gang, I had many cross connections with it. Do I know you?!

Happy birthday. :) I do think being closer to Auron's age than the others has a lot to do with my sympathy for, and identification with, him. (Also with my total inability to understand the Aurikku 'ship....)

but at least we both agree on Rinoa

For or against? ;) I know a lot of people really hate her. Not me, though; no real strong feelings either way.

So I am currently in the full flush of X obsession, several years after everyone else.

I know what you mean -- I played the game when it was new, but I only started writing fic a little over a year ago, so I'm definitely behind the times as far as the fandom is concerned. It's a fun fandom, though -- minimal shipping wars, not *too* much drama. ;) I had a separate fandom journal for awhile but decided it was too much work to maintain two, so I just lock anything I feel weird about posting publically.

Now, however, I have spammed your post quite enough.

No worries. :) You could write for pages and I wouldn't mind. Another Mawrter, whee! Too exciting. ;)
