I think the answer is that I just shouldn't be allowed to go into bookstores any more...
So I dropped by Borders this evening because I was almost finished with my book (The Orphan's Tales Book 2, which was every bit as wonderful as the first), and I needed to make sure to have something to read on the train on my way home from dinner.
Somehow my brain decided that this meant I needed to buy five books. Five. Two Phillipa Gregory books, two books about the history of food, and The Tea House Fire. None of them were even particularly high priority on the to-read list. Curse you, Borders, and your large stock and your "buy one, get one half price" sales!
Ah well, I guess there are worse ways to blow the grocery money.

Gregory is an engaging enough writer that I find her books pretty easy to follow, although I do find myself constantly wonder what's historical and what she made up (my knowledge of that period of English history is shaky at best).
