Where are they now?

So the California Supreme Court will hear arguments for and against the constitutionality of the state's "Defense of Marriage" law on March 4th. Guess who the attorney for the state is?

Kenneth Starr.

Yes, that Kenneth Starr.

There must be some irony in this somewhere, but I'm having a hard time articulating exactly what it might be...

Uh, so this comment has absolutely nothing to do with your entry. Sorry about that.

Renay emailed me recently. She said that you felt I ignored you and she asked me if I had something against you. I was really surprised, because I hadn't realized I had come across that way.

I'm very sorry if it seems like I'm intentionally ignoring you - I really enjoy your writing and I admire your intelligence. I certainly have nothing against you and I don't want you to think I dislike you.

Renay sent me two links to illustrate her point. I don't know what the first one was since it was a broken link but the second was your reply to my comment about the 'King of Hearts' game that is played at one of the high schools in my city. I didn't reply to your comment and I'm sorry if that offended you.

The reason I didn't reply was simply that I had nothing to add... You really said it all in your comment and I agree with everything you said. Once again - I really didn't intend to anger or offend you. I read a lot of your fanfiction and love it all, and I hope we could be friends.

Okay, that last bit sounded a little bit grade-school-ish.

(But hey, maybe that's a good thing!)

Am I forgiven? =) (http://www.beyondblossoms.com/images/Red%20Velvet_zoom%20copy.jpg)

Hi, thanks for the comment!

It wasn't really the King of Hearts thing; by itself, that would never have bothered me. It was the lack of comment on the Trick or Treat story. It probably sounds silly to have been stewing about that since October, but, well. I have. I should probably have just said something, but since we'd never spoken at that point I wasn't sure what to make of it, so I let it go and then in my mind it blew up into something much bigger than it needed to be. So I'm sorry about that; I hope I don't come off as some sort of crazy drama queen. ;)

Anyway, yes, I'd be happy to set it all aside and be friends. :)

It doesn't sound silly or make you seem like a drama queen. I understand wanting feedback on a fic, especially one written specifically on request. I really am sorry about having missed that - I promise you that I always comment on fics written for me when I am aware of them.

If that happens again, please let me know!
