Happy Leap Day!

It always seems like February 29th ought to be a bigger deal, with parties and parades and maybe even a day off work. Something. It only happens every four years, shouldn't we celebrate?

In the World Calendar (http://www.theworldcalendar.org/), which surprises me by still being around even though the Journal of Calendar Reform is long gone, it was going to be the unnumbered "Leapyear Day," a holiday. I for one would definitely support having a holiday today!

That's really interesting, I don't think I've ever seen the World Calendar before. I'm not sure I agree with their premise, though -- people would buy new calendars every year anyway, to write notes on, and I kind of like the variety of days and dates changing over time.

But an annual world holiday is something I could definitely get behind!

It's my uncle's birthday. Does that count? :D

Definitely. ;)

I'd always wondered what having a 2/29 birthday would be like. Do you only celebrate every four years? Could I pretend to be only 8 years old? All the possibilities...
