Special occasions

Besides being 8/8/08 (I wanted to post at 8:08, but the pesky work thing got in the way), today is also Sneak Some Zucchini Onto Your Neighbor's Porch Day, which as anyone who's ever grown the stuff knows is a key day to observe.

I had a zucchini muffin for breakfast to celebrate. Warm from the oven. Tasty stuff! (Also the only way I will eat zucchini.)

Also, my aunts are having their (30-years-overdue) wedding reception tomorrow, and if that's not a reason to celebrate, nothing is.

Congratulations to the aunts! And best wishes all around. I shall sneak them a virtual passion flower on their porch. It seems somehow appropriate. ;)

Y'know, the funny thing about that is my boyfriend's in the other room making about 5 loaves of zucchini bread, trying to use up the 3-pounder we bought last week XD Now I know what to do with it all.

This is too funny! I just got back from lunch with a friend who was saying that she had grown zucchini in her garden and had so much she didn't know what to do with it! I forwarded this link to her! :)

Zucchini is just like that. Either the plant barely survives or you have way, way more than you could ever use.
