Question for Twitter folks

Twitter has eaten at least three updates I've tried to make today. It says I've made 11 updates (12 now, because I just did another test comment), but when I look at my own page or at twitter.com/home, they aren't there. It's two replies to not_cynical, and then a comment that the two replies had disappeared. Is this a known problem? Something to do with @ replies being hidden? But my settings say to show them. Mysterious.

Dear Twitter, please don't make me give up on you because of techinical problems before I even really start using you. Much obliged.

Update: And yet, when I search for "@the_scriptoria", they all appear in search results. I am officially confused.

Update to update: Okay, it ate my last test, too, and that one wasn't even an @ reply. Grr.

Unfortunately sometimes Twitter just does that. It goes a bit wonky now and then =/

Gah, that's so irritating. Has it happened to you often? Do they ever come back, or are they gone forever?

It depends. Did you send it by SMS, or on the web? Sometimes SMS ones show up hours later for no apparent reason.

No, it was via the web. I guess they are just buried in the database, never to be seen again (unless someone goes searching for them). Boo.

If it's any consolation, I DID get both of those messages and I appreciated them a lot! :D I use Twitterfox, and when things disappear they're almost invariably in another tab, I don't know where they could be hiding on the website!

(Seriously, thank you so much for both of those messages! I know I said that the idea should be a cliché of the fandom, but seeing someone else doing it feels REALLY WEIRD to me. Possibly I'm just crazy!)

And you're welcome! I kind of agree, it's a surprise that it doesn't get written more, but I think that other story may be the only one I've seen on the topic. And I so hear you on it being weird to see it.
