17 hours of flying + 3 hours of layover + 9 hours of time difference = one seriously tired KJ.

Rome was excellent. It would have been even more excellent if a pickpocket hadn't gotten my wallet on our second day there, but you can't have everything. More on that, plus zillions of pictures, later. For now, I'll attempt to catch up on as much email and LJ as I can before I faceplant into my keyboard from sleepiness -- we got up at 6am Rome time, which is 9pm Pacific, and I wasn't able to catch a nap on the plane, so I've been awake for over 24 hours. As always, I'll try to read all the way back, but if there's anything you especially want me to see, leave a comment here!

YOU LIVE.

Assuming being a totally sleep-deprived zombie counts as "living" (which is why I'm not on IM -- I probably wouldn't be able to hold anything close to a coherent conversation right now), then yes. ;)

Of course I have to work tomorrow, but I will pounce you when I get up!

I want to hear all about it!

Oh no! I am sorry about the pickpocket. I should have told you my method for avoiding pickpockets - stand/walk near nuns or priests. It worked for me and there is no shortage of religious folks in Rome!

I can't wait to hear more about the trip and see photos! :)

Cool strategy! Not even Rome pickpockets would dare go after a man or woman of the cloth, I bet. And yes -- I don't think I'd seen as many nuns in habit combined in my entire life as I saw during a week in Rome! They were everywhere.

I know! I couldn't believe how many there were. Amy laughed at me when I told her this, but as you saw, it is hard *not* to find a nun or priest in Rome!
