update

Part Eighteen is posted.

I have a very small bit of Nineteen written, but I will hold off on any serious work there for now. I really cannot believe that this is almost finished...

We all seem to be slowing down. Do you suppose it is because none of us want it to end?

I, being compulsive, cannot stop writing so, as I mentioned, I have begun another one-shot. The title of this one is The First. Can you even image what it is about? LOL

I loved Eighteen. It is infuriating that Shuyin should be selfish enough to mess up their idyll. She tends him like the lover she is. Beautiful.

Is that the story set during his early Crusader days that you mentioned in a different comment? Either way, I look forward to it.

I am so glad you enjoyed Eighteen. (I talked to Ry last night, and she gave me the "go" to post it.) I'm particularly glad to see that you picked up on the "he'd better not keep protecting me like that" bit.

I find myself resenting Shuyin more with every chapter.

Whether I keep writing this Paine (outside any possible future collaborations, of course) is an interesting question. I'm partly writing the epilogue piece so that I can have some at least temporary closure on her; I want to get back to AGL at some point, and I need to clear the slate a little bit because the Paine of that story is somewhat different. She is the woman that the Paine of "Fate" became. I believe that she is just as recognizably Paine, but they are no longer the same character really. I love them both, I think I can continue to write both and keep straight which is which, but I'm not sure. I hope that makes some sort of sense...

Did Ry give you any idea when she is going to do her Eighteen?

About the two Paines - it makes perfect sense. I invented Anjh so that I could write Nooj without being in the least canonical unless I wanted to. I wanted to explore a man like that in such a situation and did not want to be hemmed about with persons complaining that 'the game says ...' hence my alter-Nooj.

I always did hate Shuyin and gave him his comeuppance in After. I got all sorts of whining complaints about it but since I had declared it AU from the beginning, I ignored them. It was so satisfying to kick him off a floating platform. Heh!

I still need to read "After"; I've been avoiding your other stories for now in order to keep my head clear for this one. Now I'm glad I held off, it sounds like it will be therapeutic!
