Second:Tag eight people. I tag anyone who wants to play along!
++Lots of pillows or just one?
One, as firm as I can get it, and not too tall, either. Too-tall or too-mushy pillows give me a neckache.
++What kind of books do you read?
Read ALL the books!
Okay, now seriously. I am more likely to read fiction than non-fiction, and I'm more likely to read speculative fiction than other kinds of fiction, and I'm more likely to read fantasy than sci-fi. But that's just in general; really, I'll read almost anything.
++What's your favorite tea?
English Breakfast, not too strong. Stronger on the Ceylon than the Assam, although I like a good Assam as well. I'm also always on the lookout for a nice smooth oolong.
++What's a good lesson you've learned?
To be more forthright in telling people what I think, rather than telling them what I think they want to hear so that they'll like me. Not mean, or blunt -- there is still room in life for tactfulness! But honesty is generally a better choice than half-truths or evasion.
++What's really annoying?
Muni. (San Francisco's public transit system, which gives me trouble more days than not.)
++What's your biggest accomplishment of the day?
I got all my invoices in to Accounting before the end-of-month deadline.
++Do you prefer your junk food sweet, salty or savory?
Sweet. I have such a terrible sweet tooth. Although I can also go for chips, and/or salsa, and/or cheese and crackers. And pizza. I love pizza, even bad pizza. Especially bad pizza.
++What your favorite place to relax?
Any cafe in San Francisco with good people-watching.
++What was the last thing you bought?
A latte before dinner, then my share of dinner itself.
++What is your greatest fear?
Heights. More specifically, falling. I don't mind being up high if I feel safe. But if I feel the least bit insecure, rationally or otherwise, I freak out.
++Do you get cravings? If so, what do you crave?
Most often, chocolate. Sometimes soda.
++What do you do to change your mood?
It depends on the day. Sometimes listening to music, sometimes spacing out on video games, sometimes chocolate. But the best thing is a distraction -- chatting with a friend, or going out and doing something. I almost always hate wallowing in a bad mood.
++What was the last meal you ate?
Dinner out with friends: pumpkin soup, steak, chocolate torte. It was really yummy.
++Do you want to learn another language?
I just wish I actually remembered the German I studied for four years in high school and college. It would be really handy to know Spanish also.
++Somewhere you want to travel to?
Everywhere?
Of the places I haven't been, probably the highest on the list right now are Germany (Berlin in particular), Hong Kong, and New Orleans.
++What are your dietary restrictions?
I don't have allergies or other restrictions per se, but I am very picky. I won't eat fish, some vegetables, and most kinds of fruit.
++What's something that you'd like to say to someone right now?
I miss you.
++What are you looking forward to?
This week to be over argh. It's busy season at work, and I have a long day tomorrow. More positively, I'm looking forward to the end of next week: Halloween at school, maybe the local Rally for Sanity on Saturday morning, and my friend S's birthday party that evening. Good times.
