Presumably most of you have heard by now about the awful homophobic retelling of "Hamlet" written by Orson Scott Card. I don't know whether to be happier that I stopped giving money to OSC years ago, or sorrier that I can't yank every penny away now.

On the bright side, it did inspire scott_lynch to write this brilliant parody of how OSC might re-imagine Henry V.

Oh man. One of my biggest WTF moments in reading that review (before I got to the gay part and my jaw hit the floor) was the OSC quote about Taming of the Shrew having important lessons to teach about modern relationships. Because seriously, WTF?

Exactly! I mean, if you read the entire play ironically, then maybe?

Anyways... this is basically just really, really bad Shakespeare fan fiction, amirite?
