WIP Meme!
Ganked from
lassarina and others.
I will post the names of all the files in my WIP folder(s), regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Choose one (1), and I will post a random line or two.
I did something similar awhile back, but my WIP folder has grown and shrunk and grown again over the last few months, so it seemed worthwhile to do another round. Also now you get to see how boring my WIP names tend to be. And also that the line between "WIP" and "Abandoned Idea" tends to be a fine one. But anyway, here we go:
Alice
Authority
Cid & Brother
destiny
Flirtation
GenEng
harlequin
Ivalice Blight
Larsa
rosch
Sanctuary
sellsphere
space

Because I'm pretty sure that's not actually a Rosso the Crimson / Basch story, is it?

"To the graduates," he said, "second and third in their class at the Cocoon Military Academy."
Yaag took a long drink, then wiped the foam from his mouth with the back of his hand. "Yeah, yeah. Should have been first and third, if only you hadn't turned in that joint paper late."
"Good grief, man." Raines put the glass down with a thump and a grin. "Are you *ever* going to let that go?"
"Nope." Yaag grimaced. "Probably no more than you're ever going to let it go that Jihl was the one to beat me."

Some minutes later, Yuna found Paine in their office, drinking her coffee and pretending to read her email. Her Inbox was cluttered with the usual missives: alerts from news and wire photo services, all kinds of junk, memos relating to work at the paper and the various features people needed photos for, the stray freelance job offer. But she hadn't been able to concentrate on any of it, and when Yuna pushed a chair over to her desk she turned to face her teammate.
"Mr. Brothers wouldn't change his mind," Yuna said. "Sorry. He said he could always assign another photographer to the team, but Rikku and I both want you. I know what you said before, but will you be all right with the project?"
Paine shrugged. "Sure. I overreacted in there. Wasn't expecting it. I'll be okay." She had taken the time to think and decided that it would be easiest to just go along. "It's our job to be impartial, right? I can't let my personal opinions get in the way."
"Right." Yuna nodded. "Okay, good. Rikku will start doing background on the organization while I try to arrange interviews. The Youth League leadership is notorious for refusing to talk with the press, but I have some connections." Paine shook her head at the understatement. Yuna knew people everywhere. If they would talk to anyone, they'd talk to her. "Can you go through the archive and the file photos, see what you can find? Sounds like Junior wants to devote an entire Sunday feature to the story, with background on the organization and its leader; supposedly there's some old connections to the military there."
"Yeah. Okay," Paine said. "So we're off the story about the missing soccer player?"
"For now. He'll let us know if priorities change." Yuna leaned over Paine and looked at her computer desktop. "Oh, I see you've already gotten started. Isn't that..."
"Jonathan Nooj," Paine said flatly. "Leader of the Youth League."

Also, this is intriguing. :D
