April update; May goals; life note
I'm sorry I've been so absent. I'll probably do a big post about why at some point (mostly to do with work stuff), but for now I can only beg your pardon and promise that I am still reading every entry on my Reading/Friends list, even if I'm not posting or commenting much. At the very least, I need to get better about crossposting my fic -- because there's still been plenty of that.
Anyway, onto April.
Days written: 24/30 (I think... I was very bad about tracking this month.)
Words written: 11,076
Words of fic written: 10,770
Stories worked on: A lot. Eight stories, four Alphabet meme chapters, and several ficbits.
Stories posted: Six, plus four Alphabet stories.
DA:O replays started: Two, which explains why the words written are down but the number of stories worked on is up.

Goals:
1. Write an average of six days per week. Nope. Gotta get back on that wagon in May, especially with the Doink! deadline.
2. Take advantage of the lull between events to finish up the Alphabet meme. No, although I made progress.
3. In the same vein, work on Wardens of Ivalice. Hah. At this rate, that will be my Mega Flare story this year as well.
4. Work on/finish story for
ff_exchange! Prompts received, prompts being mulled over, but no words written.... yet.
I guess, given the work issues alluded to above, this isn't too bad, but it won't cut it for May. I need to cut back on the distractions, writing and otherwise. Better managing my Tumblr usage is, I fear, a key component of this.
So, goals for May:
1. Write at least six days per week. (Except for my Memorial Day Weekend trip.)
2. Finish at least one story for Final Fantasy Exchange. (Not optional, the deadline is in May.)
3. Finish up Tumblr milestone prompt fics. (One of the two remaining is in progress, the other is just an idea at this point.)
4. Work on the Alphabet meme. At this point, I'm targeting that one to finish in June.
Anyway, onto April.

Sadly, Tumblr can be far much of a socially addictive drug (scroll scroll scroll scroll) that sucks monstrous amounts of time away. :|
So, two have two da:o replays going on at the same time? I thought I was bad. Serious fic writing (which I haven't officially started yet since I've only been writing one-shot prompts) seems to *require* that I do special playthroughs for the epic fic in question.

I enjoy the heck out of Tumblr, but it's a terrible time sink, mostly because there's no good way to stop reading and get back to it later. If you don't catch up completely, the backlog is gone. I've been trying to convince myself that's okay. Sometimes I succeed. >.>

I've been meaning to ask: on your mac, did you purchase a version of DA:O that came with DLCs? If so, did you have any trouble getting the DLCs activated during your second round of purchase/customer-service hell?
Tumblr: I need to get better at picking out a small handful of blogs that I read and accepting that most of the dashboard's backlog isn't worth seeing. ;)

BTW, it just so happens that Marissa *is* the canon Hawke for the Wardens of Ivalice universe. Which means that there is a high chance that Carver will make an appearance...
The only DLC that came with the version of DA:O that I ended up buying is The Stone Prisoner. It installed fine, and the crystals are showing up as loot, but Sereda has just now arrived at Lothering, so I haven't tried to trigger the quest yet. But all indications are that it will work.

Warden Carver! I will be looking forward to his appearance in Wardens of Ivalice. :D
During game play I found amusement in Carver being such a sour pain in the rear but once I started writing Carver -- oh ho ho! -- I learned how much I actually love him. Funny how the slightly annoying characters become far more fun when featured in one's own fanfic.
I still need to mess around with my DA:O DLCs for the PC Ultimate version. Only Awakening shows up and I've been far too busy with life to deal with customer service hell. :/
