Ganked from at least a couple of people by now. Bold the ones you have and use at least once a year, italicize the ones you have and don't use, underline the ones you use at least once a month, strike through the ones you have had but got rid of.

I wonder how many pasta machines, breadmakers, juicers, blenders, deep fat fryers, egg boilers, melon ballers, sandwich makers, pastry brushes, cheese boards, cheese knives, crepe makers, electric woks, miniature salad spinners, griddle pans, jam funnels, pie funnels, meat thermometers, filleting knives, egg poachers, cake stands, garlic crushers, martini glasses, tea strainers, bamboo steamers, pizza stones, coffee grinders, milk frothers, piping bags, banana stands, fluted pastry wheels, tagine dishes, conical strainers, rice cookers, steam cookers, pressure cookers, slow cookers, spaetzle makers, cookie presses, gravy strainers, double boilers (bains marie), sukiyaki stoves, ice cream makers, fondue sets, healthy-grills, home smokers, tempura sets, tortilla presses, electric whisks, cherry stoners, sugar thermometers, food processors, stand mixers, mincers, bacon presses, bacon slicers, mouli mills, cake testers, pestle-and-mortars, gratin dishes, apple corers, mango stoners and sets of kebab skewers languish dustily at the back of the nation's cupboards.

When I first moved in with T, he was flabbergasted that I'd never used a rice cooker before. It's a staple of his life. The one we have it a hand-me-down from his parents that is older than he is -- literally, you can see it sitting on the kitchen counter in some of the photographs of his mom's baby shower. I think they got it as a wedding gift.

I'm surprised not to see waffle makers on this list. Or stick blenders.

I actually do want an ice cream maker. SE makes the best homemade ice cream and I am always jealous. And once I am unemployed I may need to reinvest in coffee making supplies. I suppose I could go back to tea, but I've gotten so invested in my morning latte.

I am flabbergasted whenever I meet people who haven't used a rice cooker (or a pressure cooker). ;)

Amusing meme (will remember to do tomorrow night), although it leaves out most of my non-western/european kitchen appliances.

T compares it to having never used a toaster to make toast. You can make toast on a stove, but why would you want to when such an ideal tool is available?

It is a pretty USA-centric list, which I assume is why electric kettle isn't on there.
