We met some cats on Sunday. Kittens actually, 3 months old. And we've decided to adopt them!
Not sure yet when exactly we are going to pick them up; still working out the arrangements. But, barring unforseen circumstances, I'd say by this weekend for sure.
We're getting two, a brother/sister pair. The male is almost pure black and the female is a silver tabby. Unfortunately, T forgot to bring his camera yesterday, so I don't have any pictures to share yet. But I'm sure I'll be boring you all to death with cat photos soon enough.
Cats! Yay!

Um, I was counting my chickens before they hatched on that one. ;) I think their names came to me while I was at lunch yesterday. I don't want to say yet, though -- I need to spend more time with them and make sure the names work first. You know how it is with cats -- they have definite ideas about what their names should be.

Have you ever read Eliot's "The Naming of Cats" from "Ol Possum's Book of Practical Cats"? I agree totally that cats have many names (at least three) and that one must wait to learn what a cat's proper name is to be. When we first brought Prudence home, we called her 'Fancy' as a sort of place-holder until it became evident she was emphatically - PRUDENCE! You are wise to hold off.
Re: x
I have. The three names concept is a great one. Eliot clearly knew his cats.
Nadia told me her name almost right away and I'm sure these cats will do the same.
