November is writing time

Still not the year for me to attempt NaNoWriMo (and it may never be; the more I think about it, the less I think that's the kind of challenge that works best for me), but [livejournal.com profile] wrisomifu is back, and I'm definitely participating again. I found it wonderfully motivating last year, and between all the projects I have running and the fact that I'm quite behind on my [livejournal.com profile] getyourwordsout goal, I think it will be helpful again.

If you're interested in joining in, sign-ups are here or here. They close at midnight tomorrow, though, so don't wait too long to decide!

Also of course it's November blog posting time -- does anyone do NaBloWriMo anymore? Well, I don't care, it can be a project of one -- so I can't miss that. I think I'm up to seven years in a row? If twice is a tradition, I've blown way past that.

What's everyone else doing? NaNo people, other projects? Come tell me and we can commiserate about our overcommitments together.

I've never been able to write in volume (or... contiguously, much of the time), so NaNoWriMo is something I've more or less stopped planning for. I've been coming to realize lately that I just have to be okay with writing only when I'm feeling it, because otherwise it only ends in beating myself up. Not something I'm terribly happy with, but ah, well.

What is NaBloWriMo? I assume it's National Blog Writing Month? Is there a particular kind or amount of content? I may try it, since I'm just now coming off of crunch hell and might actually have time/energy for something if it's manageable.

I do love NaNo because I reserve it for origfic these days, but I understand how it's not for everyone. ♥ I'm not just trying for NaNo this year; I'm trying for the whole damn novel. 100K. Maybe not all in November, but before 1/1/14.
