Out and about

Today was a pretty nice day. T took the day off, and I wasn't scheduled to work, so we slept in, went out for Thai lunch, and then just walked around -- hit the Ferry Building (but didn't buy anything), watched the ice skaters at Justin Herman Plaza, checked out the holiday decorations at the Embarcadero Hyatt. Then we came home, where I made apple crisp for tomorrow's Thanksgiving dinner while T played Grand Theft Auto Online. The crisp is just out of the oven, and it smells fantastic. I wish I could eat it now.

I hope everyone's Thanksgiving and/or Hanukkah preparations are going well, for those of you who choose to make them! :)

Yummm, apple crisp. I have pie parts ready to assemble and bake tomorrow and am already excited about dessert!

I loooove pie. But I'm useless at pie crust, so I make fruit crisps and cobblers instead, and also a pumpkin bread that's really yummy.

Thanksgiving dinner is my favorite meal of the year, and dessert is undoubtedly the best part. :)

I've gotten better at pie crusts since I discovered how handy the food processor is for putting the ingredients together, but they're still more work than I'm often willing to put in outside of special occasion. :P And ah, I just realized I haven't made any pumpkin bread at all this season! THIS MUST CHANGE.

I am now sad that I didn't think to buy the ingredients for pumpkin bread. Maybe for my second Thanksgiving dinner, with friends, which is on Sunday.

Ohm nom nom apple crisp. My favorite holiday dessert that only marginally beats out apple crisp is summer time pretzel jello. <3
