Spammers?

Has anyone else been having issues with random anonymous spam comments? I feel like they dramatically went up over the last few weeks, from basically none to several a week, mostly either in Japanese or short strings of numbers, all from similar IP addresses. It's to the point where I'm thisclose to turning off anonymous comments for awhile.

Anyone know?

I haven’t gotten any of those (yet) but I imagine it’d be quite annoying. Do you have a captcha set?

I don't but that's a good idea. I'd forgotten that was a setting. I'll go turn it on right now. Thanks!

So I was wrong -- I did have text-based captcha turned on. But T just tested it and it seems like the captcha isn't working. Maybe it's recently gone down and that's why I'm seeing more of them? Anyway, I think I'll just turn anon comments off for now and see how it goes.

If the captcha’s have broken that’d definitely cause an uptick in spam. Whatever it is, I hope it gets sorted out soon :)

I have not had, or seen, any spammy comments lately, but I'll be on the lookout.

Might help if I updated like I'm always saying I'm going to... *dry*
