new chapter

Another chapter posted. Not quite certain what I'm going to do next on the story -- there is so much I could cover, but I don't know how much of it is worth doing. Maybe I'll let the ideas percolate for a little while before jumping back in.

May I assume this refers to your earlier comment about how many and which incidents on the pilgrimage you intend to relate? I cannot imagine you do not know the direction your basic story is meant to take.

Yes indeed. I'm not *that* muddled. :) The basic shape of the story is well set and has been for a long time, and I know what the next major event is to be. (Actually, the next major event is about half written and has been since sometime in June!) The question is which minor events along the way I need to touch, and how deeply. I just played though the game from the end of Operation Mi'ihen through most of Guadosalam and that gave me some ideas. Hopefully it will come together.

Replaying the game and thinking seriously about continuity and what makes sense in terms of writing a realistic story is pointing out all kinds of weird inconsistencies, particularly to do with travel times. I think I'm going to have to let logic drive some of my decisions and to hell with canon. (Ooh, just typing that made me twitch.)

She is becoming.
Thank you, that is quite a compliment. I've worked hard to make her more of a real character and I'm glad you find that it's paying off.

I agree. And a good thing, too, given how much of the later books are devoted to her story!
