Snowflake Challenge Day 2: Fanwork Recs

Day 2: Rec at least three fanworks that you didn’t create.

I am totally going to cheat for this and pull my recs from past Lady Business columns. Shameless plug: [community profile] ladybusiness has a regular fanworks recommendation column, typically every two weeks, where various editors share things we love. You can find them at this tag.

Okay, but the point of this is to rec works by other people, not things produced by myself and my colleagues. ;)

No Reservations: Narnia by [archiveofourown.org profile] edonohana

This fic is several years old (from Yuletide 2010), but I'd never seen it before this fall. It's a delightful mashup of the Narnia setting (and characters that are immediately recognizable despite being mostly OCs) and Bourdain's distinctive style and voice. I presume the story was making the rounds again because of Bourdain's recent passing; though written well before his death, I still found it a fitting tribute to his memory, and a comfort and joy to read.

Mollymauk vs. Caleb: Epic Rap Battle by Hollaback Nerds

Check out this video for some stunning cosplay and glorious rhymes as Caleb and Molly trade barbs with some help from Nott. Also brief non-speaking appearances by Caduceus, Jester, and Beau. A lot of love went into the details here, and it shows. Some language may be NSFW. Critical Role spoilers through Campaign 2, Episode 26.

Various Mediavengers Miscellany Part 3: The Hollywood Reporter, July 22 2016 by [archiveofourown.org profile] nottonyharrison

This long-running art series, which imagines magazine covers in the world of the MCU, is one of my favorites. This recent installment suggests that the movie Red Sparrow is a stealthy expose of the Black Widow program. I highly recommend browsing through the whole series if you haven't already.

That battle deffo reminded me of Weird Al and "I roll to investigate his arsehole" is a great line; thanks for linking that. :)
