I

You have a lovely crisp voice and talk about twice as fast as I am capable of doing. In fact, everybody on here talks twice as fast as I. Even the southerners. Anyway, it was interesting to hear your voice. How does that auto-transcription work?

Badly, apparently. ;) I'll have to turn that function off.

This is my "phone voice", which is modulated a bit higher and crisper than my regular voice. But I do talk quickly and always have. Growing up in Iowa, people always complained about it, but for some reason that's never a problem in California...

Worst transcription ever! But I’m excited about this project, maybe for reasons you don’t intend, but it’s true. I’m a little obsessed with regional accents. The way you said “tomorrow” intrigues me, reminds me of somebody from Michigan. Grow up in the Midwest, by any chance?

Isn't it terrible? :)

I am indeed a native of the Midwest -- born in Ohio, moved to Iowa when I was three, lived there until age thirteen. I've purposefully purged a lot of the midwesternisms from my speech (you won't catch *me* calling a fizzy beverage "pop"), but some of the accent and speech patterns remain.

A rather more human-mediated transcription. Very few liberties taken.

Hello, and welcome to the first installment of Voice Post Friday, brought to you by Renee.

I probably should have planned out better what I was going to say. When I was originally thinking about this, I thought I would have the option to not work... I have to go in for a few hours tomorrow, so I figured I would take off early. I did get to take off a little bit early, but in my cunning plans I forgot that today was somebody's last day. So there was cake, and it would be silly to leave early and miss cake.

I am now fed on cake, and saying hello to all of you! I am sitting outside my building on a lovely fall afternoon. It was very foggy this morning, but it burned off and it's all nice and warm now. I guess I'll enjoy it while it lasts. The few trees that change color are starting to do so, which means that winter with its rain and cold is on its way.

So... I will sign off, wish you all a happy Friday, and a happy November.

Talk to you later.
