Still alive

So I guess it seems like I haven't been around much lately, except actually I have. I've been around -- reading, commenting some, on AIM almost every night -- but I haven't felt motivated to post. It's not for lack of things to say; I have thoughts swirling around on politics, and personal life, and fics, and cute furry animals, and so forth, but finding simultaneous motivation and time to sit down and write stuff out has been difficult lately.

But I am here, even if you don't hear from me much. I promise that. And I'll get some of this stuff out of my head and onto the keyboard soon enough.

I will leave you with two recommendations: one book (Old Man's War by John Scalzi) and one video (An Engineer's Guide to Cats).

I get that way too sometimes; I read, and when I go to post I just can't get anything out and I say "F it".

Glad you're still here! :)

No, I hadn't. That's really funny. :) And very familiar to anyone who has owned an energetic kitten!

I liked Old Man's War. I picked it up while waiting for S to buy something, and had to buy it because I wasn't willing to stop reading it when it was time to leave.

I thought that it might be a book you'd like -- I meant to ask before whether you'd ever read it but forgot. Have you read any other Scalzi? I got "The Androids Dream" at the same time as "Old Man's War" but haven't started it yet.

I don't think I've read anything else he's written, I know I haven't read Androids Dream. I'd be interested in borrowing it when you're finished with it.
