It's a wrap

And so another November draws to a close. I did manage to blog every day, but I didn't feel terribly inspired by it most of the time. Probably because I got so mired down in the election during the first half of the month and work stress in the second half. I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get more fic written, although there are three WIPs that should appear sooner rather than later. I hope.

I have managed a nice lazy holiday weekend, which was good. Grocery shopping, the Ferry Building for lunch yesterday, and we've cooked every night -- although tonight we're just heating up some pre-made ribs, but I did make cornbread from scratch, and it smells yummy. Lots of reading, some good spacing out on TV; we caught Star Wars on TV on Friday (you are never going to get me to call it A New Hope), and The Empire Strikes Back is buffering up now. I always forget just how much I love those movies. I always meant to snap up the non-special edition trilogy when it came out on DVD, but I never got around to it. I should check and see if they're still available.

So that was my four-day weekend. I hope you all had a great one as well -- safe travel to all who have not yet returned home!

I do have all three movies on VHS, and we have, in theory, a working VCR. I just never think to watch them.

Muggs' request wasn't specifically Kinoc-related, but I do intend to work him in there, because I love working with Kinoc. He's easily my favorite minor character in FFX. Unfortunately, that isn't one of the WIPs -- I'm not that far along yet. But I am poking at the bunnies; hopefully one will hop along soon.

Re. epic: I've been following along! I'm just the worst reviewer ever. It's nice to see you back at it, though. I especially like what you're doing with Rikku and Wakka. But I will do my best get you real reviews eventually. I think writing an epic collaboratively was actually easier than when I wrote one solo, because we could bounce ideas off each other and rein one another in whenever we got too far off the track. We also outlined a lot, which I highly recommend.

Twelve. page. outline. O.O Yes, I'm learning THAT the hard way. I think my unconscious is doing a dress rehearsal for the writing part of the dissertation.
And I do not need reviews (though they are loved), but love to know I've got a few readers. (Which you are not obligated to be, since after all I was lame and haven't finished DSHND yet, but I am most grateful to know you're there).

Oh, well, not Kinoc from you yet, but I will watch for your stuff. There are few of us now, so it's easier to keep up. *wry grin*

It's not about obligation, I promise; it's just about reading a good story written by a friend. And I know what you mean about wanting to feel like one has readers, whether or not they review. It's the one thing I miss about not posting on FF.net any more -- the lack of hit count tools.

I will write more Kinoc; I am a founding member of his fanclub, after all. ;) It's just finding the right ideas at the right time.

I just noticed that Kinoc has the blue streamers down the front that Rikku wears in back.

There's a crackfic in that somewhere .O.o
