Someday, I will post about something other than fandom

But that day is not today. There's just so much fandom stuff going on lately (FFEX! FFXIII! Mega Flare!), and the rest of life and the world is just too depressing, complicated, and/or dull for me to be inspired to talk about it. Someday soon, maybe.

I have my [livejournal.com profile] ff_exchange prompts, and they are awesome. Every single one is something I could write, and all of them are interesting on one level or another. Now I just have to narrow them down, decide whether I want to go for a challenge or expand on something more familiar. Who knows, I might have to write more than one. Either way, exciting!

Also the documentation for Mega Flare is almost finished! Look for that sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed that it's ready this week. I love the buzz on this that I'm seeing around! :D Good times. I probably won't start officially poking at my own idea until I finish FFEX, but I have definitely been contemplating my options...

I have the perfect plotbunny for Mega Flare, OMG, let me in already!

Patience, patience. :) Can FFEX tide you over for now?

Yes. ... For a little while. XD

I'm similar to [livejournal.com profile] ovo_lexa, I've got an idea for Mega Flare that I can't wait to start working on. Though I have an FF8 playthrough to finish as well...

Mega Flare won't open until June, so you have some time. ;) At least you have a project to work on meanwhile?

I'm hoping to make DOINK!2010 The Round Of Multiple Gifts, personally (rather than The Round Of 30,000-word Monstrosities, which was 2009) (although chances are my multiple gifts, if I go that route, will still add up to 30,000 words D: )

I encourage multiple gifts!

I'm really trying for writing at least two prompts to completion. Preferably without 230948329 words of tl;dr as preamble.

But if it's enjoyable tl;dr, well ... !

[identity profile] first-seventhe.livejournal.com 2010-04-13 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I am a huge fan of the tl;dr! I'm mostly hoping I can spread it between projects rather than overwhelmingly dominating one poor little prompt.

Your icon is staring at my icon with the utmost credulousness!

I'm not surprised the tl;dr brigade travels in the same circles. We all love it around these parts, don't we?

WHERE IS MY EDIT FUNCTION WHEN I NEEDS IT. incredulousness. INCREDULITY. wah

[identity profile] owlmoose.livejournal.com 2010-04-13 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I would really like to. This is the first year that I've been seriously tempted! It might depend on whether I end up writing back-up.

Thank you for matching me with such an excellent set. :D

This is my first FFEX, so I'm probably inordinately excited, but it's cool to see I'M NOT ALONE in these feelings of, um, general fandom joy? Pretty much. I think it'll be fun.

My prompts are interesting and workable, for the most part, so that's definitely helped.

Also—in closing!—I was unaware Paine was capable of being sexy until I saw your icon. That's just—! Okay, miss sassy pants, I see the value of wearing off-the-shoulder wraps and suspenders now. To this wisdom I bow!

Isn't it excellent? It's from this fanart, which I love.

FFEX is exciting, no matter how many rounds it's been. :) Last year was some of the most fun I've ever had in fandom, and if these prompts are any indication, I can look forward to more.

Wow, it's a pity I'd have to sign up to copypasta my comment there. You wouldn't happen to have an account over there, would you?

I see that there is an FFEX chatroom on the site. Is this where the commiseration occurs? I need to know where to go when I have woes like, "Oh, my god, I have written 15,000 words and haven't even got to the point of the prompt, wtf is the matter with me." BECAUSE IT'S PROBABLY GOING TO HAPPEN.

[identity profile] owlmoose.livejournal.com 2010-04-13 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I do, actually. Just for commenting and favoriting. Do you want me to copypasta for you?

There is an FFEX chatroom! And you have hit right on the intended purpose. I will probably be right in there with you, wondering why I picked the hard prompts rather than the easy ones.

[identity profile] delladella.livejournal.com 2010-04-13 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, if you would! I like for people to know their stuff is getting out there and getting seen.

There's a third prompt I could possibly do, but it's for a canon I don't write for. If I were feeling really ambitious, I'd try that one, but I just don't have it in me. It's the intimidation factor; I just don't think I could do that canon justice because I have little involvement with it beyond a playthrough.

Dude, I totally wrote for that canon and I didn't even beat the game. Seriously, I think you would own it. *boosts your confidence*
