paine's confessional

I just posted the first chapter of my meta-fic, "One More Confessional" (Thanks for the title suggestion, RyRy, hope you don't mind that I snagged it!) a few minutes ago. It should be here. I hope that it lives up to expectations, though I fear that my fellow authors have set the bar very high...

Part Two is drafted and with luck should be up tomorrow, and I have bits of Three, Four, and Six written as well. Going last is a bit of a challenge, since I have to work with everything in all the other stories as well as canon, but that's also part of the fun of it. I'm already really excited about where all this is going to go. Whee!

I see your Whee! And raise you a 'Calloo! Callay!' I have just read the chapter and am chortling with delight. You are right on pitch with a needle-sharp image of Paine and enough humour to season the opening and firmly grasp the reader. *loud applause, cheers, and ever a quick cartwheel* Are we not a team, we four? I am flattered wordless by the caliber of the writers who have chosen to enter my world and participate in this game. Now I can see I must put in some real work today. ;-)

Thank you so, so much for the encouragement -- here, in the review, in your own journal. I'm actually a little overwhelmed by all this praise.

I think seasoning Paine's journal with humor is particularly appropriate, given that her wit is one of the aspects of the character that makes her so appealing in the game. Of course, as the story gets more serious, so will she.

You should be seeing Part Two shortly.

I am very glad I decided to participate!

The wit she shows makes an elegant contrast to the efforts of Nooj to enliven his entries. Poor lad, he has no sense of humour, but he tries.

I enjoyed both chapters, as I mentioned. I think you and Lee (Never Draven) will make an excellent team of writers, especially since you're so close in chapters.

Thanks! I'd like to stay very close to Lee if I can, no more than a chapter or two apart -- it'll make it easier to play off her.
