Three chapters in 24 hours, that must be some kind of record.

The next part is coming along. I doubt that it will come along as quickly as these other first chapters have, but it shouldn't be long, either.

This is something like the sixth or seventh chapter for one of the story quartet to be posted since yesterday. It really amazes me, how we are all feeding on and inspiring one another!

You're amazed?! I am flabbergasted! I wander around like a woman high on one of the more euphoric drugs. You have taken the Paine I sketched and have given her the dimensionality I could not find for her. Bless your talent. I am perpetually surprised by the directions you other three are finding to pursue and the skill with which you all are telling us about them. Yes, it is a feeding frenzy of a sort and certainly a hot-bed of inspiration.

I thank you for the review. And, like Paine, you see through and into the character of Nooj. No, he cannot understand why she desires his attentions. He is a gaze hound, like me, and has looked at himself in the mirror. He is acutely conscious of how his body appears to the eye and thinks everyone must see him as grotesque as he sees himself. That is why he is so nervous about retaining the affection of Paine and is sub-consciously preparing himself for the moment she mockingly tells him what she really thinks and why she is really sleeping with him. He is deeply frightened inside and unable to correlate that fear with his courage in battle. It, in some way, explains his wish to die. He cannot bear being unmasked as a coward - in any way.
