so much for breathers

I got about half of Twelve drafted this morning, along with a small but important section of Thirteen.

I am so addicted to this thing. And it doesn't help when new chapters come along at the exact moment that I should be running out the door for work, and then leave me with cliffhangers... Heh.

I was talking to some friends about my new past-time at dinner last night, and regretting the timing; a year ago, I wasn't working, and I would have had so much more time to devote to writing. But SE disagreed; she said that it's probably better this way, that I can let my work be my work and my creative outlet be something completely separate. Upon consideration, I think she's right. I like my work (although not always my job -- there is a difference), but it's not my life, and shouldn't be.

I keep forgetting you are fortunate enough to live in the lovely city of San Francisco until a post like this reminds me by referring to the time difference. I know addiction and this is, indeed, it. I am drooling over the prospect of your next chapters and dread the end of this project.

It may well be conflict between work and avocation which keeps your writing so fresh and inspired. Whatever the cause, I would not have it any other way.

I am right now setting up the moment in which they try to talk openly. Cross your fingers. LOL

SF is a great place to live. Given your current weather complaints, you would love the climate at the very least.

I'm excited to hear that you're working on the open conversation. I cannot wait to see what that will look like.

Speaking of anticipation: Then I shall... what?!?

LOL It is not so mysterious. He is finishing up his report of the events of the day. You can hear his voice dragging off. As his mind turns toward 'his brats', Paine walks into view and ...

It is going to be tricky to handle the conversation without using dialogue. And if I quote a line of dialogue, Ry will flay me. Heh! He will be his usual clumsy self in attempting to justify himself afterwards and I hope I can get it to work. Paine must listen to what he is trying to say, not only what he succeeds in getting past his lips. Well, back to work.

I have just written the first draught of the conversation scene and I would value your input on the Paine part - her words, I mean. If you would care to drop over to my Journal when you have left work for the day, I will place an entry for your eyes only.

Hell, it's a Friday, no one really cares what I'm doing. :) So I went ahead and left you my comments on the locked post.

Short answer: Yes.
