idea eruption

I have been attacked by a surplus of ideas and seem to be working on three stories at once. The last two chapters of OMC are in progress, of course, each partially written. And then two separate epilogue pieces, one journal style and one vignette. (The idea for the vignette snuck up on me rather suddenly while driving home from work yesterday, shrouded in fog on the Bay Bridge. I spent most of the night that followed in its grip, setting down bits before I lost it.) It would seem that I have a lot of work ahead of me.

That's not even mentioning AGL 30, which is as yet completely unwritten but already brewing in the back of my head, and my plans to do a minor overhaul of the parts of AGL already written and posted. And my thoughts of upgrading and spiffing up my other LiveJournal and combining it with this one (I'm finding it complex to maintain two active LJs, and my personal journal, [livejournal.com profile] owlmoose, is much longer established; nothing will happen on that until the weekend at the very earliest, though, so don't change any pointers yet). Yes, it's going to be a busy weekend...

You and I seem to be sharing a renaissance as well as a mind these days. I, too, have three stories en train. And quantities squirming around like so many worms in a bait can. It is a good feeling. I had to go back and re-read the story to which I am writing a sequel and that is fun as well.

KJ, I am so very glad you swam into my ken. Working with you has been inspirational. When you give the word, I shall take pleasure in adding your other journal to my FL - with your permission, of course. LOL

You can certainly add the other one now if you like! What you should not do at this point is delete your links to this one; I'm going to maintain them both until the other is overhauled.

I've already started the full edit of AGL and that's been fun, for sure -- it seems like ages since I've thought about it, even though it's only been about a month since I last updated. A testament to how much the Quartet has engaged me, I suppose. Have I thanked you lately for letting me be a part of it? Because it's been so, so amazing an experience.

Thank you, I have done so. It would never enter my mind to sever the links to this current journal. This is where we hatch up our nefarious plots. Incidentally, the last two intimate encounters between Nooj and Paine were intended to show his difference even there with Shuyin sharing his body.

And as for thanking me for letting you join the Quartet - have you forgotten how I begged, pleaded and threatened? Silly girl.

I know what you mean about going back to the work before this. It is something of a jolt. I have gone all the way back to Nooj's fifteenth year. Bless his little heart.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with overactive muses. I've been working on "A Mentor...", plus I've got scenes of Siri's life floating around in my head, but seeing as she's an OC I didn't think actually putting them down would be worth anything. I've also been completely energized by this FFX/Star Wars crossover idea I have, and I'm already making up scenes for that. The only reason I'm holding off on that is I'm not sure I could maintain two different fics at once. In case you're curious, I'll put a few things that you might be interested in here (these obviously aren't all of them)

Nooj: Cliegg Lars
Paine: Shmi Skywalker
Gippal: Han Solo
Baralai: Obi-wan Kenobi

Do you approve of the idea? I tried to match them for personalities, not their relationships to each other (for example, Braska is in Yuna's generation and a friend of hers rather than her father, and Cid is her dad). You can probably guess who else is who, but I think a few of them are unexpected.

Isn't it fun? It's also kind of distracting, though, to be at work and suddenly be whacked upside the head by an idea! Sometimes it takes a great deal of effort to concentrate on what I'm actually supposed to be doing...

The Star Wars crossover is an intriguing thought, as long as you make sure that the FF characters are still recognizably themselves. I'm not sure about the Lars couple as Paine and Nooj, though -- P & N are such strong characters, and Clieff and Shmi don't really stand up to them. I have to admit that I actually preferred the first part of "A Mentor...", before the HP parallels became so explicit. You have great ideas of your own, and you should trust them.

Even if you never get the chance to post them anywhere, why not write your notes on Siri down? You never know when you might get to use her again, or whether those ideas might develop into scenes, plots, etc. for canon characters. It could make for an interesting exercise, if nothing else.

BTW, I was glad to see that your cousin is doing better! I hope she continues to improve.
