30 Days of Writing: Wrapping Up
Thirty days and not-quite-thirty posts later, here we are:
30. Final question! Tag someone! And tell us what you like about that person as a writer and/or about one of his/her characters!
Long-time readers will know that I don't do meme tagging (although I will usually carry a meme forward if tagged by another, unless I have absolutely no interest), and I'm not about to start here, especially not with a meme that carries as much of a commitment as this one. That said, I'd be thrilled to see any of the writers on my list tackle it. I've found it a pretty valuable experience, making me think about aspects of writing I don't often think about and almost never talk about any more. Back when I first got involved in fandom, it seemed like the folks on my flist got into discussions about writing and process on a regular basis, and I always thought that was useful, for ideas on how to do better, and reassurance that writers I admired had trouble sometimes, too. Though there are people who disparage the "writing workshop" model of fandom, and I can understand in theory that not everyone who writes for fun wants to be a better writer, one of the things that I love about my corner of fandom is that it is a community of writers, and of people who take writing (or whatever artform(s) they practice) seriously even if they aren't professionals or aspiring to be.

And so ends the 30 Days of Writing journey. Thanks to everyone who came on it with me! If nothing else, I have enjoyed getting back into the habit of daily posting (or near-daily, anyway), so you may be seeing more of me than you used to.
