What the hell, Delicious?
I mean, seriously. What the hell? Was there any kind of warning on this? Any secret "preview our new service!" opportunity? Because if not.... wow.
Guess it's time to leave. You all know I am generally for riding out the changes with free Internet services, but not when they totally break them overnight. Any recommendations for other bookmarking tools? For my purposes, the only real problem is not being able to see all my tags, but what a problem to have. How is a bookmarking service useful if I can only get to a handful of randomly-selected tags?
Bleh.

Very uncool on their part.
(Delicious was sold to new owners and that's why there was a change in ToS, but their handling of it seems just a bit draconian.)

If I find a good bookmarking service I will let you know---please, if you find a better alternative, make a quick post about it?

I'll definitely keep you posted on alternatives!

Whoa... I'm seriously sad thinking about all the great work the FF-Press team has done day after day, month after month, year after year, and how delicious appears to have freaking ruined the awesome set of FF fandom links+tagset that they created. o_o
Very sad. D:
Hopefully someone more delicious savvy than I will tell me this isn't so. ):

It's all so senseless. Who did they think their user base was, anyway?
tag update
Are tags the same?
Tags function the same way, except that now we support multi-word tags. For example, you can add the tag "San Francisco" without underscores or other symbol tricks, and we will recognize it as a single tag. Separate your tags with commas so we know what words belong together.
...
The only problem is that I'm not clued enough with this far too new interface and, when I do manage to find a tag and click on it, I get broken webpage errors from their site. I cannot understand why they would downgrade functionality like this.

....I'm suddenly really glad that when Delicious got sold, I exported everything....

I just. Wow.
As I told Sev and Renay earlier today: dollars to donuts in a week something comes along offering to restore the old features in exchange for paid membership.

But I wouldn't be at all surprised if you were right.
Meanwhile, I've just signed up for Pinboard, so we'll see how it does.

I also really dislike that they established a separate email address for complaints--with such a snarky link, too--which tells me (as a reasonably intelligent Internet user) that they have already decided to send everything to the circular file that comes in via that email.
Let me know what you think of Pinboard! I'm eyeing it with some interest, and I really like the justification for why it is cost-y (see also the justification for present site on which we are communicating charging for accounts), but I'm not sure I use those kinds of services enough.

And definitely! I will keep you posted. :)
