Progress

It's probably cheating for so many of my posts this month to be about my Mega Flare progress, but it is the main focus of my time and attention right now, so maybe not? I can't decide.

Anyway. Got some good editing done yesterday and today, maybe halfway through this first editing run, and once this post is done, I'll dive back in. Current wordcount is 26,483; I haven't discovered any gaps yet, but I've flagged a few sections for possible rewrite. It would be in great shape if I had about a week longer, or at least if I weren't completely booked this weekend. As it is, well. We'll see.

In other news, bleah. If Ed Lee wins outright, I am going to be Very Irritated. Can San Francisco politics get nothing right?

SF's mayoral race: I'm all for having choice in elections but 16 candidates? 16?! o_o

I wish that were an exaggeration. But no.

There is, in fact, such a thing as too many options!

At first, I was like, "Hey, a Chinese-American mayor (or Korean-American), that's kind of cool."

Then I read the rest, and now I'm all "Tch, really?"

By the way, do you listen to music while writing? It may have to do with my music selection, but I sometimes get distracted by it rather than have it guide my hand.

Ed Lee is Chinese-American, and he would be the first Asian American to be elected mayor of SF if he wins.

But... yeah. He is not my guy, for various reasons. Fingers crossed.

And yes, music, always. I find silence much more distracting than music. I've found that instrumentals work well, especially soundtracks and trance-y techno, as do vocals in a language other than English. I can background those pretty well.
