This one-liner post feels like the kind of thing that I ought to be posting on Tumblr. I have no idea what to do with myself.

See, I was going to start work on my Tumblr Secret Santa. But while I know who my giftee is, I hadn't taken the time to familiarize myself with their request yet -- I was waiting until I'd turned in my DABB story. So much for that.

Fortunately, there must be other things I can do. Right? Right?

*hides* I am so far behind on this. Mostly because I feel like I have to reread to refresh my memory of what has happened up to this point. Also, admittedly, because I had expected the story to be finished several chapters ago, so it was difficult to stay invested in a story that part of my brain keeps telling me is "over". I trust that you have more story to tell, otherwise you wouldn't keep telling it :) and eventually I will pick it up again.

I have yet to venture into the world of Plurk -- I looked at it once, saw the horizontal scrolling, and back-buttoned out at warp speed. Is it better for conversations than Tumblr? That's Tumblr's main disadvantage to my mind, that and the difficultly of catching up after missing a day.

Yes! I frequently describe it as the warped love-child of AIM chat and Twitter--posts are character-limited, but they organize nicely into conversations, and if somebody is talking about something you don't care about, the cultural expectation is that you'll hit the mute button (for that conversation) and everybody's happy, which makes it pretty great for liveblogging.

The horizontal scrolling is something you get used to fairly quickly (and I say this as someone who instantly quits websites over horizontal scroll/throws a fit when people post fucking huge images to LJ or DW that cause it to horizontal scroll), and you can use the mobile view instead if the horizontal stuff will really give you hives. Also, since you can tell it to filter to just things that are new, you can reduce the horizontal scroll unless you're trying to play serious catch-up.
