omc follow-up

My second of three planned follow-up pieces to "One More Confessional" is posted.

This is not a happy story. Parts of it came easily and others were terribly difficult to write. I almost abandoned it a couple of times, but in the end I'm glad I didn't. Mostly I'm glad I got through it.

I have no words to grace the ones you used. You are far too good in showing how things are and how they must always be. The double meaning in your title did not go missed. Or many there are multiple meanings there. Beautiful.

Thank you, as always, for the kind and insightful reviews.

The burning of the paper was the image I mentioned that grabbed me one day and would not let go. I might not have written the story otherwise. Yes, many layers of meaning intended by that title; I'm glad that comes through. I nearly brought myself to tears when I got the last paragraph right.

I do hope I haven't killed him for you at a bad time again...

What you have done is drive me back to my own story and forced a change which is all to the better. The two of them express their pain and sorrow in such different ways. She has the balm of tears; he does not.

No, I asked you for this one, you will recall. You are, in truth, doing what I cannot. You know my superstition.

I do remember that you asked to see this particular scene, and I'm glad it gave you useful insight for your own work. It's great that we can continue to feed off one another even when we aren't technically collaborating.

That user pic is a very striking image. I don't think I've seen it before.

I am not so surprised that we still inspire one another. Thinking about your two epilogues last night, I am about to rewrite the last three-quarters of the story I am on. It helps tremendously to know the Quartet Paine is still out there. LOL

The pic is one of my paintings. It is part of my Enigma series and I accidentally clicked on it. I have more than fifty user-pics so sometimes I hit the wrong one.
