update and notes

Not much to say about this one. As mentioned in my note on the site, it's a transitional chapter. I do wonder whether it's jarring to have Kal in two segments in a row from different time frames. Once again, I'm not entirely happy with the end, although it's better than my first few drafts.
I just need to proof 25 one more time; assuming I don't find anything glaringly wrong with it, it should be up on the site within a day. I hope all my readers like the next one as much as I do.
Yesterday, I spent some quality time with the source material, playing FFX from the destruction of Home up through the start of the battle with Yunalesca. I got a lot of ideas about how to deal with some of the really big upcoming stuff and even started drafting bits of scenes, and I'm pretty happy about how it's coming out.
PS to Yuna-flowering, re the question in your review: no, at this time I don't plan to provide details on that particular backstory. Partly because I'm saving them for a possible future story, but more because they aren't really relevant to this one. I'm really telling Liss's story, not Paine's; even though we're getting quite a bit of her point of view, I do consider her a secondary character (albeit a very important one). Then again, who knows -- I'm plotting Liss's story somewhat on the fly (I know where it will end but not exactly how I'm getting there), and I may decide that telling a little more about Paine's life between "Chasing My Past" and AGL is meaningful after all. So we'll see.
