temptation

Since I take the Bay Bridge to get to work, Interstate 80 is part of my daily commute. I-80 starts on the Bay Bridge and goes almost all the way to New York City, and it is a secret ambition of mine to someday drive the whole thing, end-to-end, in a single trip.

Some mornings, I am tempted to just keep going.

Not to escape my life, particularly; it's a pretty good life, all things considered. But to do something really out there, chase a crazy dream for once. I'm not so good at that sort of thing. I wish I were.

More lines.

Spent most of the evening on an art project -- making signs for the Halloween party on Monday. It was kind of fun, actually, playing with clip art and construction paper.

One of our campuses is closing down next year, so tomorrow morning I'm going on a trip to loot pillage steal pick up some extra textbooks that their executive director has so generously offered us. We're also getting furniture and computers, and I might get some of the latter for the library. I hope so; so many of these are really old, slow, and awful.
