new story announcement

As I've mentioned a couple of times (y'know, just a few), I recently embarked on a new writing project. It is finally ready to go public.

Death Shall Have No Dominion

This is a collaborative effort with Ikon (kunstarniki). We worked together on "The Confessional" and had so much fun doing it that we had always hoped to find another shared project. And here it is! This story comes out of an idea that we've been tossing around for almost as long as we've known each other: how would Nooj and Auron interact? Because there is just no way to make such a meeting canon, this story is of necessity AU. I've never written AU before, so it will be quite a challenge to keep the characterization and tone right while taking events in an entirely different direction. A thrilling challenge, though -- we are having a grand time already.

Because this story is a collaboration, it will not be posted on FF.net. Instead, we've created an LJ community, halfdead_au, to hold the chapters. The prologue is here. Check it out! I have a good feeling about this one.
