This is not an update

I've been meaning to sit down and write a real post telling you all about the new job, but I just haven't really had a time when I've felt like I could do it all justice. For now I'll just say that it's still going well, I feel like I really fit in, and it's work I enjoy and think I can be very good at.

So instead of going into all that now ( I'll just give you what you *really* want. )

Readers advisory

Various info science blogs point me to this column from Strange Horizons on the hierarchy of sequels. The author is also a librarian, so naturally he presents this taxonomy. This really appeals to the cataloger within. (Sometimes I wonder if I missed my calling, going into reference instead. But the library tech just handed me a stack of books to catalog, so hey, maybe I get my chance.) Anyway, interesting.

You know, I really ought to get better about actually reading SH on my own rather than just stumbling across other people's links to interesting articles and stories in it....
