"Bunnies, it must be bunnies!"
Feb. 16th, 2007 12:31 amI may have mentioned in this space that most Thursday nights I go out to dinner with friends. Because of the timing of various things, tonight's Thursday "dinner" was actually a trip to Buffy night at a local theater, a place called the Parkway that has couches and easy chairs and serves food. The pizza was mediocre, but how often can you go to the movies and get table service? So it was worth it from that perspective. Also since I had to work until 8PM tonight, so I didn't need to worry about getting dinner beforehand. They showed three episodes: "Once More With Feeling" (aka "the musical episode"), "Tabula Rasa", and "Hush".
So much fun. Nearly everyone sang along with the musical, and stuffed bunnies got thrown, Rocky Horror-style, at the appropriate time. I ended up with one of them, and boy was I glad of it during "Hush". Possibly the scariest 45 minutes of television ever made.
Apparently there is a Joss Whedon night once a month (or every two weeks, I wasn't clear), Buffy (the musical and two more episodes) alternating with Firefly (playing through the series from the beginning). I may have to get to more. Although much as I love the musical, I may get tired of seeing it once a month. We'll see how it goes.
Also, I don't have to work tomorrow! And it's a mighty cute stuffed bunny. So it was a good night.
