( Charts didn't come in like a lion but had a few moments mid-month. )
Specific goals:
1. Write an average of six days per week (this will help smooth out con and travel). Close enough, given that March is a long month.
2. Write at least two sections of Wardens of Ivalice. I wouldn't say I wrote two new sections, but I did clean up one and add substantially to another. So, progress, anyway.
3. Draft and ideally post at least one Trope Bingo fic. Success, although it's not the fic I thought it would be, because I've been replaying the Ace Attorney games.
4. Post at least one political linkspam. Decide if I want to continue the project. Nope, and I think that's my answer.
5. Write and post a Tales from the TBR for
ladybusiness (after the Hugo nomination deadline). I started reading a book for this but didn't finish, mostly because it took me longer to get through a book I was hoping to finish for the Hugos (and then kept reading past the deadline) than anticipated. So this is bumped to next month.
Not bad, overall. Quarterly check-in on annual goals:
1. Complete the Journeyman Habit Pledge (240 writing days) for
getyourwordsout. Stretch goal: 288 writing days, which is about halfway between writing 5 days/week and 6 days/week. Ahead of pace to meet the official goal; 7 days behind my stretch goal pace, which basically accounts for the week I lost to the flu in January. I'm not to worried about this yet, although it means I'll need to budget my days off for travel pretty carefully.
2. Complete and post Wardens of Ivalice, Part 3. Made some progress on this, although I'm about to take a couple of months mostly off from it.
3. Participate in at least two fic exchanges and one Big Bang. I've already signed up for two fic exchanges, so assuming I complete them both, I'm in good shape here. Still haven't seen a Big Bang that grabs me yet.
4. Two media reviews or other substantial articles each month for Lady Business. (I'm probably going to tie this one to my reading goals.) Set a schedule for one political linkspam every two weeks, and stick to it. Oh boy have I not stuck to this at all. I'm going to have to rethink my approach here. I'm officially ending the linkspam project for now.
5. Finish every new story I start in 2018. So far, I'm okay on this. Although in part I've managed it by not working on very many stories. Maybe that's cheating.
Here, I feel like I'm not doing so great, especially with the lack of production for LB. How do I prioritize this, and trust myself to better come up with interesting ideas? I will need to ponder.
As mentioned above, I signed up for two fanwork exchanges in March, and I've received both assignments. So those deadlines will heavily influence my goals for the next little bit. Starting with April:
1. Write at least six days per week, including while traveling (we're going to DC for a long weekend soon).
2. Write fic for the Children of the Stone (Dragon Age dwarves exchange), ideally finished or at least ready for beta (due May 6th).
3. Write first draft of fic for SSR Confidential (Agent Carter exchange). This isn't due until June 1st, but because of WisCon and other things going on in May, I'd like to get a jump on it.
4. One book review and one other post for
ladybusiness -- that should be manageable, right? Right.
