( Charts are in denial that it's already October. )
Specific goals:
1. Write at least 5 days per week except while traveling. I mean, yes, but losing an entire week messed with my cushion and now I'm 3 days behind pace. Fortunately, November is coming.
2. Write at least one story for
ladiesbingo (new cards available today!). I got my card but haven't decided where to start yet.
3. Get back to working on Wardens of Ivalice, Part 3. I have done this! Part of the reason my chart for this month looks so weird is that I spent several days rereading, editing, and making notes for this story, which gave me writing days but didn't touch wordcount. I drafted a couple of scenes and tightened up a bunch of inconsistencies -- those will crop up when you work on a story in fits and starts over the space of eight years.
4. Write a Tales from the TBR review for
ladybusiness. Well, uh, I only read one book in the month of September, so... not so much.
Q3 check-in on annual goals:
1. Write at least 240 days (an average of 20 days/month), with a stretch goal of writing 125,000 words. I'm a little behind on the days written pace, but if I write every day in November I should make that up without too much trouble. I'm much further behind on the stretch goal, to the point where it doesn't even make sense to shoot for it. I'm revising it to 100k, which is a little less than 10k words per month for the remainder of the year.
2. Post to my own journal at least two days each week. Post to Lady Business at least once per month (not counting regularly scheduled posts). Having a scheduled post every week is helping with the first goal, although I'm still not quite hitting it. And the LB posting is not going so well at all.
3. Write something about every book I read, every movie and show I watch, and every narrative game I play. Last time I did this, I said the following: "I just really need to commit to a weekly multimedia roundup." And I was write.
4. Finish and post Wardens of Ivalice Part 3. Let's be real: I'm not going to get it posted this year. But I am starting to make progress again, and I intend to continue doing so.
5. Participate in at least five fandom fic projects, whether those be exchanges, Big Bangs, completed bingo cards, or whatever catches my eye. Additionally, write and post at least two fics that are NOT in response to a request or a prompt. My second spontaneous fic is complete! The Nia/Brainy story inspired by season 5 of Supergirl definitely fits this bill, even better than the Critical Role/Dragon Age crossover, which I also completed recently. I've also completed five challenges this year -- Ladies Bingo (posted the line after amnesty, but it still counts), Remix Revival, WIP Big Bang, SSR Confidential, and Multifandom Drabble 2019.
Okay, let's think about October.
1. Write at least 5 days per week. This is counting on November to pick up the slack from my vacation, but I think it's reasonably safe to do so -- I don't have any major travel coming up, so I doubt I'll fall any further behind.
2. Write one fic for
ladiesbingo -- carried over from last month.
3. Write a Tales From the TBR for
ladybusiness -- another carry-over, but a worthwhile one.
4. Research and planning for a Sekret Fandom Projekt (which I am not remotely ready to discuss in more detail but by mentioning it here I am committing to it, so watch for that sometime soon I hope).
5. Make measurable progress on Wardens of Ivalice.
