{More lines.)

I'm such a zombie today. I guess I'm a little short on sleep, but it's nothing out of the ordinary. I left for work an hour early for no good reason -- something in my brain just decided that 8:30 was time to go, so I did. I was halfway out of the building before I realized what I was doing. So I stopped by the coffee shop across the street, got a bagel, and read for awhile, which was actually kind of nice, but it's not the way my morning was supposed to go.

Maybe I'm still distracted by cats on some level. Still no word on that. Hm.

I actually found myself agreeing with an article in The National Review.

Don't panic, it's not about politics. I haven't completely lost my mind. No, it's about literature, specifically the reordering of C.S. Lewis's Narnia series to be read chronologically rather than in the order the books were published, making The Magician's Nephew the first book in the series rather than The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. The writer of the article lays out reasons both literary and practical for reading the books in the original sequence -- LWW is written to introduce readers to the Narnia universe and its concepts in a way that TMN is not -- and I think he is absolutely right on every count. I've always felt the renumbering is a travesty, and now I have the words to explain why.

An interesting piece, worth reading I think if you have any interest in Narnia. Assuming you can force yourself to skim past the weird attempts to praise Jeb Bush. *shudder* At least that part is over with quickly.
