May. 21st, 2010 07:10 pmThis may be the most amazing group effort, not to mention the best example of the kindness of strangers, that I've ever seen: Metafilter bands together to help two women escape a dodgy situation. (Note: even knowing that the story has a happy ending, the thread has some pretty disturbing talk about human trafficking. Be prepared.)
If anyone ever tries to tell you that the Internet and social media are useless wastes of time, and/or needs to rekindle some faith in the goodness of humanity, just point them at that thread. Wow.
