Mighty hunters

A few minutes ago, I went downstairs to get something to drink and found both cats perched at the window. Normally they run over to me when I appear in the morning, or they've already come upstairs to say hello, but today I was clearly taking a distant second to something so I decided I needed a closer look. I discovered that a small fly-like creature had gotten inside, and they were stalking it quite mercilessly. Until they looked up and noticed the birds perched on the outside walls and beams. Instant attention grabber. They both started mewing and meeping and trilling and making that chattering noise -- you know the one; T tells me they have done that before, but this was the first time I've ever heard it, I think because they both do it very quietly and quickly, in a short burst.

Lexi did take a break at one point to greet me, leaning up against my legs and purring for a few seconds. Then back to cat TV. Tori is still waiting for the commercial.

Gratuitous lousy icon post

I spent more time than I care to admit searching for something like this, and then way more time than I care to admit making it myself when I couldn't find one. And it's really kind of terrible, but I have to have something to show for my morning.

The idea of doing this has been distracting me for days; maybe now that it's out of the way I can settle down and get something actually productive done....

updated: Thanks to the talents of mneme_forgets, the icon is now much improved! Fixed manip here (hope it's okay if I link to it). :D Hooray.
